NSW 70% Freedom Day Covid-19 Restrictions: As of 11 October 2021

As we begin the transition to more freedoms and getting life back to normal the rules around weddings have changed for the vaccinated members of NSW as of Monday 11 October 2021.

As such here is a summary of the changes to rules from Monday:

SYDNEY RULES FOR FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE

Wedding ceremonies of up to 100 people

  • Up to 10 singers can perform

Wedding receptions of up to 100 people

  • Eating and Drinking must be seated
  • Dancing permitted

Ceremony and Reception Locations allowed anywhere in the Greater Sydney Area (not regional NSW)

REGIONAL NSW RULES FOR FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE

Wedding ceremonies of up to 100 people

  • Up to 10 singers can perform

Wedding receptions of up to 100 people

  • Eating and Drinking must be seated
  • Dancing permitted

Ceremony and Reception Locations allowed anywhere in Regional NSW (not Greater Sydney)

RULES FOR NON-VACCINATED PEOPLE

Small weddings with no reception after

No more than 5 guests outside the wedding party

The wedding party includes:

  • the two people getting married
  • two witnesses required for the marriage
  • one person conducting the service
  • one person to record the wedding

Small weddings can only be held outdoors or in venues open for funerals

No weddings can be held in domestic premises.

THE FOLLOWING ARE GENERAL RULES THAT APPLY TO ALL OF NSW:

  • Masks are mandatory in indoor settings
  • All guests must check in using the Service NSW App or sign the manual log if they do not have a smart phone
  • All guests must provide proof of vaccination status to attend the event 
  • If you live in Greater Sydney, you cannot attend or take part in a wedding that is outside the Greater Sydney Area (regional NSW) and vice versa
